Statement of Faith

Camp Christian Statement of Faith

Camp Christian shares a common Christian faith and the religious doctrines, principles, disciplines and practices of the Restoration Christian Church.

Restoration Church Define:

The Restoration Church, rooted in the Restoration Movement, is defined by its commitment to biblical authority, church unity, and global disciple-making. It holds Scripture as the ultimate authority above creeds or human traditions, using guiding principles like "No book but the Bible, no creed but Christ." The movement emphasizes unity in Christ beyond doctrinal agreement, recognizing that shared faith in Jesus should outweigh divisions. This unity serves the greater purpose of fulfilling Christ’s Great Commission, making disciples worldwide. A key credo reflects this mission: "We are Christians only, not the only Christians."

Statement of Faith:
God

There is one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and share all the attributes of God. He is the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, merciful, gracious, abounding in love and faithfulness, righteous, and just. (Genesis 1:1, 26-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ

Jesus is the Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and was crucified for the sins of the world. He rose from the grave three days later, demonstrating His victory over sin and death. He ascended into heaven and will return to reign as King. (Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5, 14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Philippians 2:5-11)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He dwells within believers, guiding, comforting, and empowering them. He serves as our advocate, intercessor, and source of truth. He convicts the world of sin and leads Christians in righteous living. (John 14:16-17, 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25)

The Bible

The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, given through human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate authority for Christian faith and practice. We adopt no rule of faith and practice but the Bible, as through it we may be equipped for every good work. Where the Bible speaks, we speak. Where the Bible is silent, we are silent. Where there is an obvious opinion, the diversity is treated with Love.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12; Psalm 119:105, 160)

Humanity

God created mankind in His own image, male and female, He created them.  However, humanity chose rebellion, leading to sin, which separates us from God. Though people have great potential for good, they are also capable of great evil. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23, 5:12; Isaiah 53:6)

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift from God, made possible through the death and resurrection of Jesus. It cannot be earned by good works but is received through faith in Jesus, repentance of sin, and baptism by immersion. (John 3:16; Acts 2:38, 4:12; Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 6:23)

Baptism

Baptism is a command of Christ, a response to faith, and an act of obedience. It symbolizes death to sin and a new life in Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:38; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21)

Eternity

People will exist eternally, either with God through salvation or separated from Him due to sin. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15)

Mission Statement:

Camp Christian exists to draw people to Jesus and equip them to walk with Him.
